During our first class the part that resinated with me the most wha when Dr. Kaufhold said Wikipedia is actually a reliable source. According to this article when Wikipedia is compared to ‘reliable and edited sources” such as Physician Data Query (in reference to oncology studies) is it just as accurate. However in a study conducted by the authors of this article in which they had a professor of astronomy and physics at Johns Hopkins University fact check an entry about dark energy and found it was 95% accurate. However, an entry written about the drummer of the band Passion Pit, the drummer himself found that there were 10 factual errors. I find it interesting that a pop culture article was less accurate than a scientific article.
